    Driving Around The Cattle

Over the last four - five years we have been in drought. During this time we've hand  fed the cattle with hay. This has quitened them down so that they are so friendly that they come up to the window of the car and talk to you. If you're lucky you might get to touch one as he looks in the window at you.

We feed the cattle with round bales. We push them off the side of the landcruiser and if we're lucky they unroll so that the cattle can all line up along the rolled out hay and eat. They get a feed every second day. This year, because of the drought, we have crops that are not good enough to harvest so we have moved the cattle onto the crops. This means that we don't have to feed the hay and the cattle think they are in paradise.
