Farm Tour
The farm tour is often made up of several trips out to the paddocks, depending on what jobs are being done at the time and the length of the stay of visitors. If the tour takes place all at once it takes about 3 hours.
The farm consists of 2 blocks. "Meadow View", 4000 acres, 18 km south of Tottenham is where the accommodation, woolshed and most of the work takes place. "Orange Plains" is 2500 acres about 5 km north of Tottenham.
On the farm tour you will see the cattle and sheep grazing, crops growing (we hope), kangaroos, emus, sometimes you will see an echidna, lizards or a snake, the watering tanks for the stock and any property improvements being undertaken at the time. You will visit the historical "Orange Plains Woolshed" built around 1850 from pine cut from the property and milled using a pit saw. At "Orange Plains" there is some historical farming equipment which is interesting to look at and compare to the modern day equipment.
